Shell Shocked! Step Out in Faith.

Insight:
Several sea creatures require shells to keep them safe. Such as the Sea Turtle, Hermit Crab, Lobster, and a Snow King Crab. These creatures need these shells to keep them safe from their enemies. That’s the same things for us as human beings. There are 2 different types of shells that we wear on our backs. The first one is the shell of your comfort zone. This shell is there because you are comfortable where you are and you are afraid of change. The second one is the shell of protection. This shell just as the creatures I mentioned earlier is there to protect you from the enemy. You should only have one shell that you should be wearing and that is the shell of protection.

Devotion:
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes.”
– Ephesians 6:11

Are you stuck in a place where you cannot get out? Think about what your life would be like in 5 years if you stayed stuck. Have you thought about it? Fantastic! Now is this where you want your life to be at forever. Often throughout our lives we have many chances to change and because we like the way our life is at that point we tend to stray away from it. This is called being too comfortable without trusting in God to guide us through this change. We as humans are often scared of change and are scared that there will be no protection after the change is made. The devil is out to kill, to steal, and to destroy anything that God has laid out for us. When this happens you need to suit up and put on the full armor of God and declare that Satan has no power or dominion over your life and declare that Jesus is with you every step of the way. Step out and have faith. God will see you through it. One step at a time.
Prayer:
Our gracious and heavenly father, I pray for your full protection over my life today and forevermore. I am asking for your help to help me to step out of my comfort zone and walk in the path that you have paved for me. I come against the enemy in your name that any weapon formed against me shall prosper in your name Jesus. I thank you for the new life that you have given me. Thank you an in Jesus name I do pray, Amen.

Plans, Purposes, and a Future

Insight
Have you ever wondered why things happen the way they do? Why did 9/11 happen?, or why did the New England Patriots win Super Bowl 49? If we look back in biblical times, lots of things happened and there was no reason behind it but God had a master plan for it all. We may not know the reason behind most things but God does. God has a plan for your life and things are going to happen whether it is good things or bad things. Sir Issac Newton just didn't walk out of his house one day and say I think I going to discover gravity today and become famous amongst many other scientist. No, It was Gods plan for him to discover gravity. All things happen for a reason and a they have a purpose as to why they happen.

Devotion
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Take a look back on your life and think about the most devastating thing that occured in you life. Do you have that in your head? Great, now how did God turn that situation around to make it a better one? Everything that happens to us is for a reason, and every reason has a purpose behind it. God did not say he had plans for you if in fact he really didn't. He said it because he does. You were placed on this earth for a reason. Sir Issac Newton was put on the earth to discover gravity. Thomas Edison was placed here to invent the light bulb. That was their purpose on this planet. So regardless of the past you have had and the test and trials you have faced or are facing just know that God is going to bring you through it. Out of a test comes a testimony, and you will be able to use that to minister to someone witnessing similar trials. Take your life day by day and continue seeking God in all you do. His plans for us are greater than our own plans.

Prayer
Our gracious heavenly father, I pray that you walk with me everywhere I may go. I pray that you reveal your plans for my life so that I may be able to use those gifts to not only serve you but to help out others. I want to experience more of your endless mercies and spread your word like a wildfire. I will worship you and praise you because you are worthy of it all. I thank you for the trials and tribulations that I have been through. I pray that I do not wander astray from you that I will stick by your side through thick and thin. I thank you God for everything. I pray all of this in your name, Amen.
